Speeding is lawlessness against God.

Lately, I have been under conviction because I was pulled going over 96 mph in at 70 mph speed zone. I informed my friend that I was in the wrong and that my friend needs to stop speeding because it is a sin. My friend thinks that a speed limit is just a guideline for a rate of travel. The problem that I now see, is that the police officers, a.k.a. a Law ENFORCEMENT officer, consider that a speed limit a maximum rate of travel allowed. That means anything over would be breaking a law. According to the Bible, Paul writes in Romans 13:1-5:

1Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience.

In the verses according to this problem is that the police have the right to give you the justice according to your crime, ie speeding. According to this passage, God does not allow speeding because it goes against the authority of the government, which was place by God himself. Let my lesson be a guide to the problem of speeding. I spent my entire leave wondering what the damage of my lawlessness would cost me. But God’s grace alone, my fine was £75 instead of £300, which is what I was thinking it would be.

As I learn more and more about God, the more and more I am learning to hate what God hates and love what God loves. I just hope my friend will read this and see the problem with the lawlessness that he is involved in and what I am now trying to abolish from my life.

In the Love of our Savior,

Please pray for the people of Kearney, NE.

My hometown was just hit by a tornado. My family called me to tell me that they are fine was without power. According to the local paper, there has been a lot of damage. It is the 2 tornado to cause damage in about 4 years. It sounds like the church I attended had some damages to the stain glass dome and the pipe organ under it. Again pray for the families of Kearney, Nebraska.

A leave recap.

This post is going to be a recap of the my leave, so start your coffee machine and snuggle up for a great time. (Hold on, I need to start my coffee.) The Tuesday before I went on leave, I found out that my dad's uncle passed away from cancer. They found it 11 days before that. He was a 2 Bronze Star winner fo his efforts in Vietnam while in the Navy. My leave did not official start until the 7th but I did not leave England until the 11th hour of the day. The 1st flight seemed short because I slept during most of the flight. After a long delay at JFK in New York, I had to change my route because my Chicago flight slipped 55 mins. SO American sent me to DFW and I would then be 2hrs late to Omaha. My original flight from ORD was only 3 mins before me so it was easy getting my bags. My bags had to continue the original trip because the rest of my flights were domestic. My dad would drive home and I would be in Kearney Nebraska at 0300 on the 8th of May.

I would drive back to Omaha the next day to see a friend in Lincoln and also try to found Gore-tex to my new uniform. This was not the plan but since my dad's uncle funeral was on Friday, I decided to not go to ISU for graduation and stay home. Friday was the funeral and I did see lots of family that I would not normal have seen. It was a good time and people enjoyed seeing my in my semi-formal uniform. One should also look really good when a brother in the Armed Services has fallen. We are told in Basic Training that we the current Military represent the members from the past that served.

The next week would be uneventful besides the vast amount of disc golf I would play. I would see my only living grandpa at a nursing home in McCook, Ne and also see some cousins and my grandma. He was really excited to see me. That seemed the tone of the leave so far was the fact that people saw me and were happy. My grandfather was a WWII vet that served in the South Pacific in the US Army. That would make me the 3rd generation that served in the military (my dad was in the Coast Guard).

On the Saturday the 17th, I would travel to Wamego, KS to see more of my dad's side of the family. It was another chance to see some family and talk since I will not see them for a while. I also played Roper which is a long wide open disc golf course. shot 4 over missing a lot of my putts that I would normal make.

The 18th was my sis's graduation and then I left on the 19th for Champaign, IL. That would be a 17hrs of pain. I drive for 7 hrs to get to OKC then another 10hrs with Kyle and Doug to get to Champaign. Another uneventful week happened until Thursday when the guys in the wedding went to Indiana Jones and then watch Brain Regan. Friday was Wedding Rehearsal then Saturday was Kyle and Betsy's wedding day. Sunday was kind fun but I did get a chance to play disc golf with Joe. Monday, Sarah, Doug and I went back to Oklahoma. Monday saw some friends and then left at 0600 from Will Rogers Airport. Landed a little late at Stansted because of a light lens problem. SO I had to wait an extra 2 hrs for the next bus. I arrived at final destination around noon.

Later Mike.

THE STORY:

So after the wedding somehow a group that went got on talking about pickup lines. The next day (or later) we started to make a list of different pickup lines for me. Then I had to practice them on different people. I also had to get rated by a single female my age on the effectiveness of the delivery. These are the ones that made it on the list.

About to Board

I am going to start packing and then I will be on my way back to England. I will give a recap from my trip Thursday after I land. Later

Where I want to be and where I am actually at

Another day without seeing a course and another day of doing nothing. I normally write about events that come to mind, this blog post had no events to talk about. I think that last post really says what I want to say. This whole coming a week early to hangout did not work just like the rest of this whole leave thing. I really should not have come with Kyle to IL but should have waited and came with Joe, Michelle, and Sarah. The Bone family is nice but the fact today all we did was nothing which really puts a damper on the leave thing. I have had a bad feeling that this was going to be not a good leave when I choose to have Kyle pay for my plane ticket. I was never informed in what was going on and had to get a new plane ticket which cost me some money that I should saved. I know that Kyle wants me in his wedding but sometimes you should not get what you want.

But, to put blame where it lies, I am the one to blame. I should have taken what I have had and went home for my sisters graduation and left back for England. I should not have had Kyle pay my plane fares. I am still not a fan of weddings. Anything with a large crowd of people I do not know, I tend to stand back and watch. I do not talk because people really do not care about what I care about. I think this is I never had any friends going through middle school and high school. In fact that is why I hated my high school so much. So instead of hanging out with people, I would occupy my time in different ways, for example disc golf. I have been lately trying to improve my disc golf playing by heading to the course. No one seems to care. I might be pushing the issue to much but I want to do something. That is the only reason I want to play disc golf here is because I am bored. What I really need is a vehicle and Tomtom. So more and likely on Saturday night, I would rather be disc golfing then being at a wedding.

Also this whole wedding thing is making not getting married. Just let me go off on this tangent. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM??????? It is one stupid day that shows that 2 people are now 1. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO PERFECT BECAUSE IT WILL NOT BE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would might try to kill myself again if I have to add a wedding to my already stressful life.

Any who, I do wish I had a close friend that was kind close in relation of distance, ie living in England. But because of the childhood I choose to destroy and the lack of social skills need to react to large groups/new people, I will be one not having fun in the states like always.

Now I need to tell this to Kyle and Elizabeth. That should be fun. Stay tune for more.

Free coffee and how bad Kearney sucks.

I am currently recovering from a 2.25 hr honors night for my sister. It was the worst thing ever. I could hardly stay through my nearly 3hr honor night some 4 years ago. Anyways this post is about FREE COFFEE I received at a coffee shop here in Kearney. I ordered a caffe macchiato and I received instead a caramel macchiato. The difference is in the drink itself. A caramel macchiato is made like most US coffee shops. It is ordered by the size of the cup. A caffe macchiato is espresso stained with milk topped with foam. Caffe macchiato are less common here is the US but is common in Europe. Since the barista missed up with what I wanted, she gave me the caramel macchiato for free. I was willing to pay for the mistake that I had by not saying that I wanted a real macchiato and a tasty US type. There is also a latte macchiato which is milk stained/marked with espresso. That is less heavy on the espresso with it being about a half a shot of espresso instead of full shot like the caffe macchiato.

The other part of the title is the fact that my hometown really really stinks. It has not really changed all that much except some new restaurant and an 8-plex movie theater. I am really big is disc golf but even with 4 courses in my hometown, it gets boring when one plays not very well. I have found myself bored many times including going to my sister's honor night. Luckily, I will see some of my mom's side of the family on Friday, my dad's side on Saturday and Sunday, and then I leave for Oklahoma/Illinois on Monday. That should speed up this trip.

I really can not wait to go back to England. Every since I left last Wednesday, I have wanted to head back home, that is England. I could have gone to way cooler places in main land Europe and had real coffee. I should have left this week and then left on Sunday the 25th to return and then saved some leave for my trip next year. I think on reason why this trip has been a problem is that I was never informed of my friend's plans before and after his wedding. That has cost me an additional $400 plus the $1000 I own him for the trip. The biggest problem is that I told him what I was planning and he never corrected me that the plans were not correct.

Well, it is time for me to end another edition to The England File. Later

Water Balloon Drop Real World.

So last night was the first I have stayed up what would be a normal shift bedtime. So to have fun in a boring city we decide to to drop water balloons from a tower at Yanney Park in my hometown. The object was to hit on of my friends in the back. The mission started at HQ with a brisk drive to Yanney Park. As we came up to the tower, one noticed that is was surrounded by cameras and the need to stealth was greatly increased. Since the parks closed at 2300, we had everything covered in case of the cheery toppers decide to ck out the park. Complete mission success was vital as we needed to escape from the police with out being spotted the whole time there. As the part of the group stealthly went up to the top of the tower, the others stayed on the ground looking for the ground cops that pop up from nowhere. After serveral missed balloons drops (like the game waterballon drop), we finally had a direct contact on the upper right part of the back. Right on the shoulder bone. It was a success with a giant red mark on his back. We tried to hit another bareback, but that mission was aborted after we had no more ammo. We quickly evaded back to HQ to eval the battle damage. Over all the mission was successful and bronze stars rewarded to everyone involved.

A week in review

This week has been a week that is no different then another week besides the fact I am now in the US. One thing I have done this week was to witness a marriage end. This is sad more because it was a lost of a family member and not a divorce. I lost my dad's uncle Tuesday. He was a member of the US Navy and was part of the Vietnam War. He went very quickly but that is what I think most people want. I really do not know what God has plan for this but I did get to see people that I have not seen for a long time (like in 7 or more years). Right now, I am going insane because my hometown is boring. Well I should be studying something and not playing. See ya.

This might be a post for a little while.

I leave tomorrow for America. This time I am going to take some more pictures of people I visit instead of a sunrise. I might try to capture a great picture of Nebraska's sunrise above flat water (Platte). As this leave have been getting closer and closer. The more and more I have seemed not ready to go. This leave has not excited me like my leave in January. I know my family (even with a death) seems ready to see me. Yet today, a major change in plans as I will not travel to ISU this weekend. This was change because of the death of my dad's uncle today (06/05/2008). I will skip out of all activities until I no more info about the funeral. I just want to remind people that this trip is not to be at weddings but see family and friends at my sister's Graduation from high school and to see other friends else where. Weddings are 2nd and will be canceled if my family has other problems.

1st TDY to Lajes AB.

So this post is about the lastest trip. Just some stats before. In the month of April, I was in 3 different countries. In one month (starting April 7th), I would have steped in 4 countries. I would also been in 3 countries in one week.

So Lajes is off the coast of Portugal in the Azores. The the approaches are over water and it is amazing. It was a pretty cool place when I got there. The next day was a long day. I was up at 0200z for a 0300 alert time. I was out on the jet at approx. 0430z until approx 0530z. We where at the jet again at 0630z and left the jet at 1600z pulling a man ground spare with a 35K defuel if the jet did not take off. That was a long day. That night was not much also. We went to the club on base and sat and the others had drinks of the adult kind. I pounded one frappacino for a quick wake-up burst then the second right after was a slow mover. Here are some pictures of the trip. Enjoy.
